VIRTUAL USER'S GUIDE

HARASSMENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

Please be respectful to all of our members. If someone says no to an interaction, do not keep asking them over and over again. Be polite or you could be put into time out or blocked or banned.

This is a safe space for us all to hang out with our community of friends. Don’t abuse it or you will not be able to join us again.

Keep in mind, you have a microphone that you may not have turned off. Please refrain from commenting about others out loud in any way that is not positive or encouraging.

If a user is acting inappropriate, you can report them.

YOUR DEVICE AND BROWSER

For the best experience, we recommend using a Windows or Mac computer running the latest version of the operating system.

You can enjoy the event on a tablet or even a cellphone connected to WiFi, but there is a difference in the quality of your experience on a 15+” laptop screen or 20+” external monitor versus a 10” tablet or 6” cellphone display. The more screen space you have available, the more video chat windows you can have open and the more video streams you can view at the same time.

Additionally, to look your best, you may wish to attend the event on a device with a high-quality video camera. Laptop cameras and external video cameras that connect to computer via USB generally offer better much quality video than the selfie cameras on most tablets and phones.

Regardless of what device you use, we recommend using the Chrome browser for the best experience. Firefox generally will work, with some potential issues. Safari and Edge generally will not work. No matter what browser you use, please be sure you are running the most up to date version.

The latest version of the Chrome browser for most any device can be downloaded here: https://www.google.com/chrome/

YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION

The faster and more stable the connection between your device and the Internet the better your experience will be.

All events are hosted on secure websites that require a secure (https) connection. Connections through public hotspots, via Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and even on some private home/office networks may not be secure and so may prevent you from enjoying the event.

The download speed (also called “downstream”) of your Internet connection determines how may video chat windows and video streams you can view at the same time. A 10MB/second download speed generally will allow you to have ten or so video chat windows/video feeds open at once with no issues.

The upload speed (also called “upstream”) of your Internet connection partially determines how clearly your video stream will be when you are on camera. A 2MB/second upload speed generally will allow people to see you clearly on a typical laptop camera or tablet/cellphone camera. If you are using a high-resolution external webcam a 5MB/second or higher upload speed will help you look your best on camera.

Connections via a mobile hotspot or public hotspot generally will not provide enough download speed for you to enjoy your experience fully.

If you are unsure of your actual download and upload speeds, you can test them here: https://www.speedtest.net/
